I’m hoping that the folks here might be able to help me with a couple of questions before I make the attempt. According to the Remington web page related to the Model Model , there are several grades of this shotgun. The Grade 1 has de-carbonized barrels — and I’m sure that’s not what mine has — but I’m not clear whether mine has “Fine twist barrels” Grade 2 or “Damascus steel barrels, engraving” Grade 3 since there’s no indication of what type of engraving or where it’s located. I’ve seen pictures of another that was listed as a “Grade 3” and which looked identical to mine. The second question is what I should for ask it. Mine is in really nice condition — hardly a scratch on the stock, no external rust and only a small amount of pitting in the bores. All of the mechanisms work beautifully as well. Is this considered a “firearm” or an “antique” under the law?
The rifle is 7X65R cal. Also comes with a set of 20 ga shotgun bbls. These are all included in a case. The engraving on the frame is beautiful. It is well executed with some deep relief engraving on the bolsters and some very fine scroll on the sides and bottom. This was evidently a special order gun for someone since on the trigger guard in a small oval is the initials “APA”.

While the show has always been designed to tap into our darkest paranoias about technology and modern life with the express purpose of making us squirm, Black Mirror season 4 takes this to a whole new level. In an era where trying to watch as many episodes as possible, all at once, has become something of a habit, this run of Black Mirror feels like anti-binge TV. Members of the GR team each picked out an episode that meant something to them personally, and reviewed it.
So what you have below is an anthology review, neatly reflecting pun intended the way Black Mirror is presented. And please let us know your thoughts on Black Mirror S4 in the comments at the bottom. Only Black Mirror, right? While Daly might be very talented when it comes to code, his real life interactions leave much to be desired.
First off is the model , this is an easy one to identify, it will have a serial number under The forearm is very slender and rises to the receiver very sharply. Now the hard part. The early Savage rifles were never given a lettered model designation, they were put into this system to try to put an understanding in what you have later on in production. They were the basic package, nothing fancy or different from normal guns of the day.
This information is no substitute for obtaining a Winchester Factory Letter from the Cody Firearms Museum (available for certain models and serial ranges) which in addition to the Serial Number Application Date, normally provide the original Received In Warehouse Date and Date Shipped from Winchester factory.
Win Date of Manufacture Posted: Fri Jul 04, 4: Fri Jul 04, 3: It’s in 12 gauge, 30″ barrels with interchangeable chokes, and ejectors. This is is a little unique as the timber work is French polished from the factory not oiled or lacquered. The other thing that is a little different, is that all the engraved scroll work on the blued surfaces are gold inlayed, however all the engraved scroll work on the silver surfaces are not infilled.
The case is actually leather exterior and felt lined interior, with gold fittings and hardware. There is a certificate that would seem to indicate it was a limited edition factory custom of some sort number 85 of , which probably explains all the fancy finish and attention to detail.

Browning A5 16 gauge serial number date guide Posted: Sun Jun 09, 4: Fri May 18, South Dakota Hi Ronyahski, Thanks for your response and question. The date discrepancies are due to three factors: I now own 7 collectable to me Browning A5s. I have called the Browning historian on each to discover all I can about each gun including when the gun left the Browning factory. No factory records could be found on three. The Browning historian informed me of the dates four of my guns were sold and shipped from Browning.
I have letters on Browning letterhead on three of my guns. Of the four guns with factory records, two had serial numbers that matched the published serial number dates listed in The Book “Browning Auto-5 Shotguns” HM Shirley, Anthony Vanderlinden.
He often utilised actions from other manufacturers, particularly BSA full-bore and small frame Cadet , and built his own rifles around them. He also led the field with his own miniature calibre “take-down” designs. Few gunmakers could produce a truly reliable and accurate take-down target rifle; his own system, in which the action body was split below the barrel and clamped onto the barrel breech thread, became well respected and commonplace. The catalogue, from which replications are here shown, is undated; however, it holds mention of Greener’s newly published edition of his book ” Sharpshooting for War and Defence” of which the ’emergency edition’ was dated October
